Back pressure created within a piston chamber on the central carrier mandrel will expand the arms to the required effective OD. Decreasing the pump rate / volume will allow the arms to collapse back to their original running diameter. The effective OD of the Bow Spring can be adjusted by rotating the adjustable sleeve and lock nut.
