The positive displacement motor (PDM) is a compact, high‑torque downhole motor for coiled tubing operations, providing reliable rotation for milling, drilling, and clean-out in vertical, deviated, and horizontal wells.
It converts hydraulic energy from pumped fluid into smooth, controllable rotation at the bit or intervention tool, with speed governed by flow rate and torque controlled by differential pressure.
Symoil PDMs are available with both elastomer (rubber) and metal‑to‑metal power sections, allowing the motor to be matched to well conditions, temperature, and fluid type. The design delivers high torque at low to medium RPM, making it suitable for milling plugs, scale removal, and casing clean-out in restricted IDs and extended-reach laterals.
